Jessica Simpson Will 'definitely' Have Prenup With Fiance

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Jessica Simpson's fiance Eric Johnson is in it for love not for money.

Slamming a tabloid claim to the contrary, a source close to the engaged couple tells UsMagazine.com that Johnson, 31, "is not a gold digger." Exhibit A, the source points out: "There will definitely be a prenup" for the pair. "Jessica has said she wants one. Jessica and Eric have talked about it," the source tells Us.

Indeed, there's a lot of dough at stake: The Jessica Simpson fashion/accessories brand grossed about $750 million in retail in 2010 alone."[Eric] understands that there needs to be a prenup," the insider explains. "He's supportive of it."

After dating for less than six months, ex-NFL pro and Yale grad Johnson popped the question to Simpson, 30, on Nov. 11. "He really loves her," the source continues. "He's a low key guy. He's not into the glitz and materialism of Hollywood at all." www.news-365.com

The singer-turned-mogul herself gushed about her husband-to-be to Us last week. "Every day is a romantic day with him," Simpson said at the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting bash in NYC. "I'm very blessed."

Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis Support Co-Star James Franco As Oscar

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Anne Hathaway and James Franco had been tapped to host the 83rd annual Academy Awards, but those reports never reached two of Franco's co-stars. That evening, at the red-carpet premiere for "Black Swan" in New York, MTV News asked Natalie Portman, who stars alongside Franco in the upcoming comedy "Your Highness," what she thought of the hosting news.

"I didn't hear about that!" she told us. "That's awesome. That's really cool." Earlier in the day, Franco's "Date Night" co-star Mila Kunis (who also happens to star with Portman in "Black Swan") stopped by the MTV Newsroom, and when we asked for her thoughts on the Oscar development, she too confessed she hadn't heard.

"What? That's awesome," she said. "I think they're going to do a great job." Both women will likely be on hand for the festivities, as "Black Swan" is a front-runner to nab nominations in a slew of categories, from Best Picture to Best Actress for Portman. There's even an outside chance Kunis could reel in a Best Supporting Actress nomination.

Franco, meanwhile, has been a leading contender for an acting nod based on his turn as a trapped hiker in "127 Hours." How his hosting duties will affect his chance of receiving a nomination and then winning the award is anyone's guess.

All Portman knows is that with Franco and Hathaway emceeing the ceremony, the 83rd Oscars should be a whole lot more entertaining than past versions of the show. "That'll be more fun to watch than usual," she said.

Getting To Know Angelina Jolie Was A 'Pleasant Surprise' For Johnny Depp

When Johnny Depp signed on to play opposite Angelina Jolie then he wasn't quite sure what to expect in The Tourist. So, he was pleasantly surprised when he discovered she's actually a pretty cool lady. He says she's "incredibly normal" and that he liked her particular brand of wit.

He said: "Meeting her and getting to know her was a real pleasant surprise. You don't know what she might be like - if she has any sense of humor at all. I was so pleased to find that she is incredibly normal, and has a wonderfully kind of dark, perverse sense of humor."

Johnny was so impressed with Angelina, he even likened to another legendary leading lady Dame Elizabeth Taylor.

In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, he said: "I've had the honor and the pleasure and gift of having known Elizabeth Taylor for a number of years. You know, you sit down with her, she slings hash, she sits there and cusses like a sailor, and she's hilarious. Angie's got the same kind of thing, you know, the same approach."

Although Johnny loved working with Angelina, he admits they didn't spend that much time together during filming because they didn't want to bring upon themselves any unwanted attention.
