"As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family," the Cyrus family said in a statement issued to People.com earlier this week. "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."
On the day he filed divorce papers in a the Chancery Court of Williamson County, Tenn., he posted lines from Psalm 91 on his Twitter account.
"He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you shall take refuge. Truth will be your shield and buckler," the lines read.
"Can I ask for your prayers this morning for my children...our troops...the hungry...the sick...the homeless. AMEN," People Magazine quoted him as he wrote in a different post.
